JWH Weekly Update

November 12 - 16, 2018

Congratulations to our girls volleyball team who came home with the Provincial Cup banner. You are the best! Our team showed great team spirit and excellence in the game. A big shout out to Ms. Hanley and Ms. Turnbull - the team coaches.

A reminder that our grade 3 students have a field trip to Black Creek Pioneer Village on Wednesday, November 14. This is an outdoor trip and students will need to be dressed for the weather. Please also provide a litterless lunch.

The second session of milk orders will be starting on December 3 and runs through until March 8, 2019. SchoolCashOnline is open for payment as of today. The deadline for placing your child’s milk order is Wednesday, November 21. Please ensure that your orders are in by the deadline since it takes time to compile them. Thank you!

A new PIZZA ordering period is now available on SchoolCashOnline. The next session runs from December 3 to February 4, 2019. The FIRM deadline for ordering pizza for the next session is Tuesday, November 27. The current session finishes on Monday, November 26.

On November 7, we sent home a Macmillan’s fundraising brochure just in time for holiday entertaining. All orders may be purchased on SchoolCashOnline. The FIRM deadline for orders is Wednesday, November 21,  in order to meet the December deadline for delivery. There will be no orders taken after November 21. If Thank you and happy entertaining!

Every year the school board provides bus safety presentations for our students. Our first one takes place on Thursday, November 15 for our Primary students. The second is on Monday, November 26 for our Junior and Intermediate students.

On Monday, November 19 your child will be bringing home their Progress Report. Student led conferences will be held on Friday, November 23, which is a PD day and there are no classes for students that day. Home room teachers will notify you on how to set up your child’s interview time.

The school could use the following items if you have any extra at home! Kleenex boxes for the classrooms, plastic cutlery for kids/parents who forget and snack-sized ziplock bags for ice packs. Please drop off in the office and we will distribute accordingly. Thank you!

Parents! Please take a moment to check the weather before sending your child to school. As the temperatures drop, your child needs to be dressed appropriately to spend a minimum of two, twenty minute sessions outdoors. Many of our students are not dressing warmly enough, particularly if they also walk to and from school.

Earlier in November, the Halton District School Board sent out a communication with regard to French Immersion information nights being hosted for parents. Here are the upcoming dates:
