JWH Weekly Update

November 19 - 23, 2018

The second session of milk orders will be starting on December 3 and runs through until March 8, 2019. SchoolCashOnline is open for payment as of today. The deadline for placing your child’s milk order is Wednesday, November 21. Please ensure that your orders are in by the deadline since it takes time to compile them. Thank you!

On November 7, we sent home a Macmillan’s fundraising brochure just in time for holiday entertaining. All orders may be purchased on SchoolCashOnline. The FIRM deadline for orders is Wednesday, November 21,  in order to meet the December deadline for delivery. There will be no orders taken after November 21. The date for pick-up is Wednesday, December 12 during the Holiday Concert!

A new PIZZA ordering period is now available on SchoolCashOnline. The next session runs from December 3 to February 4, 2019. The FIRM deadline for ordering pizza for the next session is Tuesday, November 27. The current session finishes on Monday, November 26.

On Monday, November 19 your child will be bringing home their Progress Report. Student led conferences will be held on Friday, November 23, which is a PD day and there are no classes for students that day. Homeroom teachers will notify you on how to set up your child’s interview time using an online interview booking system.

Many thanks to the parents that dropped off items from the list below. The school could still use some additional tissue boxes for the classrooms, even if you just send one in for your child’s class! Thank you!

Earlier in November, the Halton District School Board sent out a communication with regard to French Immersion information nights being hosted for parents. Here are the upcoming dates:

Just in time for the holidays, JWH will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair! It will run from Monday, December 3 to Friday, December 7. Flyers will be heading home with your child next week. During the first two days of the week, each class will have an opportunity to preview the book fair during which students may prepare “wish lists”. Later in the week, students will be able to purchase items.

Parents! Once again we are asking that you please take a moment to check the weather before sending your child to school. As the temperatures drop, your child needs to be dressed appropriately to spend a minimum of two, twenty-minute sessions outdoors. Many of our students are not dressing warmly enough, particularly if they also walk to and from school.
